To Start With Why. Any person or organization can explain what they do; most try to explain how they are different or better; but very few can clearly articulate why. Why inspires others, and leaders who inspire their organizations to think, act, and communicate why are often the complete opposite of what everyone else is doing.
Our Story
Spending 22 years leading government services enabled me to acquire many skills... and to observe how dysfunctional organizations operate. Despite numerous challenges, I worked with amazing people who taught me how to develop and evaluate successful projects, how to implement strategies that actually worked, and most importantly, how to organize and support the teams I led to accomplish our goals.
Armed with my in-depth knowledge of the public and non-profit sector, I embarked on a journey to transition to private business... only to discover the same patterns. Government was (and is) able to hide bad practices and dismal results through billions of taxpayer dollars. A partnership with an extremely successful private-equity company was all that I needed to bring my knowledge base to others.
A Director of Community Resources. Regional Representative for numerous Government of Alberta Provincial Initiatives. A Masters Certificate in Project Management. Expertise in Contract and Budget Management leading to recruitment by the Assistant Deputy Minister to improve contract management practices affecting $700 Million annually. Senior Area Manager for a $230 Million per year department and 170 employees.
I have experienced substantial success and have been trained by world class CFO's, CEO's, and private equity leaders. I have also witnessed how and why initiatives fail. And I am willing to put my reputation on the line to help organizations improve.
